NBA Trades and Updates Approaching the Draft and Free Agency

The 2020 NBA and free agency is upon us now but the trades have been the early big story so far. Here are the big trades and player option decisions that have happened so far



Chris Paul traded to the Suns


The Suns send Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque, and a 2022 first round pick in exchange for Chris Paul and Abdel Nader according to Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charaina.

Devin Booker finally has a star backcourt mate to work with along with Deandre Ayton.


Rockets send Robert Covington to the Blazers


The Rockets traded forward Robert Covington to the Blazers for forward Trevor Ariza, the 18th pick in the 2020 draft, and a 2021 protected first round pick according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The trade can not be official until after the draft.



Pelicans trade Jrue Holiday to the Bucks, Bucks also make a trade with the Kings for Bogdan Bogdanovic


The Pelicans trade guard Jrue Holiday to the Bucks in exchange for guards George Hill and Eric Bledsoe, plus three first round picks and two pick swaps according to Adrian Wojnarowski.


The Bucks also trade Donte Divincenzo, Ersan Ilyasova, and DJ Wilson in exchange for Bogdan Bogdanovic according to Adrian Wojnarowski.


These trades comes as a last pitch effort to try to get Giannis to re sign with the Bucks long term.



Players that have opted in and out of their player options.

Guard DeMar DeRozan opted into his $27.7 million dollar contract this year with the Spurs according to Shams Charaina.


Guard Rodney Hood is opting out of his $6 Million dollar player contract and becoming an unrestricted free agent according to Adrian Wojnarowski


Center Andre Drummond is opting into his $28.7 million dollar player option with the Cavaliers according to Marc Stein.


Guard James Ennis declines his $2.1 million dollar player option and will become a free agent according to Shams Charaina.


Forward Jabari Parker will exercise his $6.5 million dollar player option to remain with the Kings according to Shams Charaina.



Draft news

The Warriors and Bulls are discussing a trade that would send the number two overall pick to the Bulls for the number four pick and Wendell Carter Jr. according to Kevin O'Connor.


The Knicks traded the 27th overall pick and the 38th overall pick to the Jazz for the 23rd overall pick according to Adrian Wojnarowski .



Updates

The Bogdan Bogdanovic trade to the Bucks is in jeopardy. The forward never agreed to the deal according to The Athletic.



Sixers trade center Al Horford, a 1st round pick, and a 2nd round pick to the Thunder for guard Danny Green and guard Terrance Ferguson. The Sixers are also sending the rights of Serbian guard Vasilije Micic to the Thunder all according to Adrian Wojnarowski
