This is coming as a shock to the entire sports world. Nets forward LaMarcus Aldridge is retiring from the NBA via his twitter and reported by Malika Andrews. Aldridge reveals that he played his last game with a irregular heartbeat. "My last game, I played while dealing with an irregular heartbeat. Later on that night, my rhythm got even worse which really worried me even more." Aldridge enjoyed every moment playing basketball. "You never know when something will come to an end, so make sure you enjoy it every day. I can truly say I did just that." Aldridge was averaging a career low 13.5 points a game this season with the Spurs and Nets.

Aldridge had an amazing 15-year career in the NBA. He was a seven-time all-star during his career. His best years came with the Portland Trail Blazers. He averaged 19.4 points a game and 8.2 rebounds in his nine years with the Blazers including averaging over 21 points per game over his last 5 seasons with the team. He signed with the San Antonio Spurs during the Summer of 2015. During his time with the Spurs, he averaged 19.5 points a game and made two all-star teams in the process.

Aldridge has a big case to be in the Basketball Hall of Fame with the career that he had in the NBA. He scored 19,951 career points and grabbed 8,478 career rebounds. He had seven seasons where he averaged at least 21.1 points and 8 rebounds a game. He also shot at least 46% from the field in those seven seasons. He will be missed in the NBA and hope he can get healthy and be there with his friends and family.
